What positives can we can hope to emerge from this uncertain and challenging time?
With the phrase “Well, at least I have my health” having never been more poignant; the people of Britain have had no choice but to press the ‘pause’ button on their own chaotic lives, and put their health, friends and families above other things.
It’s needless to say, that right now more than ever… we all need a little positivity.
Yes we hear you, it’s incredibly hard to stay positive given the current climate, but… let’s take stock, and think for a moment about what good could come out this after all is said and done.
When this is over…
Children will only remember spending quality time with their parents, being creative, playing games, eating together as a family and taking care of themselves and others.
We will embrace National Parks and flock to areas of natural beauty, with new found appreciation for the world in which we are living.
New businesses will flourish, as young entrepreneurs will have had the time and space to organise their creative thoughts and systematise their business plans.
The climate will have had chance to breath and heal, as there were so many less cars on the roads.
Some will have learnt to become more self-sufficient, grow their own vegetables and organise their gardens
Many of us will have mastered new skills, using them in productive ways as they move forward with our lives
We will have learnt to become more financially responsible, consider our purchases more carefully, weigh up our needs and wants, and the real significance of them.
People will continue to reach out to others, not just think about their own needs, caring for the elderly and the vulnerable.
We will emerge fitter, healthier and happier, cooking proper nutritious meals and having exercised daily
Improving our Home Environment
Alongside all of this, many of us will be looking around our homes, glancing from room to room and considering how we can improve our environment.
Whether those improvements be simply a lick of paint, the rearranging of furniture, a new lamp (obviously ordered online), or a serious rethink as to how we are using energy in our homes, and indeed what we could do to make our homes more energy efficient; we are all looking around at our four walls, and taking in how we can improve our homes, our energy usage, continue to reduce our fossil fuel emissions, and by doing so improve our quality of life.
In the face of this pandemic, we should all be thinking about how we can feel healthier, improve our lives, and the lives of others, support the planet and continue to strive towards our goal of a healthier climate. We must consider the things will have learnt and gained during this crisis… as opposed to what we have lost.
JEM Energy Will Still Be Here
JEM Energy are here now, and will still be here when all of this is over (and it will be over in time).
This whole crisis has made us even more determined to support others in being kinder to the planet and kinder to themselves; we will continue to be available for support, advice and consultation if you feel renewable energy could help you achieve your own positive future goals.
Stay safe everybody!
